Solutions

Closed doesn't have to mean silent — or dishonest.

The agent knows your working hours as a fact. At night it answers what it can, records what it can't, and never promises a callback nobody scheduled.

Working-hours aware

It knows when your people are reachable

Hours are configuration per agent, timezone included — the behavior changes at the boundary because the truth changes at the boundary.

No empty transfers

It never rings an office nobody's in

Night transfers to dead lines are the worst outcome in telephony; when you're closed, the agent takes the message instead of the gamble.

Real answers at 3 a.m.

Knowledge doesn't sleep

Hours, policies, instructions, prices — everything in the approved base gets answered at any hour, in the caller's language.

Honest morning handoff

Your day starts with an organized queue

Recorded requests wait sorted with context and contacts — the night's calls become the morning's list, not the morning's guilt.

The story

Closed hours gained a useful answer without pretending to be open.

A local service business had one voicemail for every night call. A routine question waited beside an urgent incident, and callers had no idea whether anyone would listen before morning. Staff returned calls without knowing the request or its priority.

SayTrue uses the same approved knowledge after hours, clearly states when the team is available, and records non-routine requests with the details needed for follow-up. Only categories with an on-call route reach a person. The agent promises no response faster than the configured schedule can keep.

The morning team starts with a sorted queue that includes the caller's reason and contact, not a row of silent missed calls. Managers can change hours and escalation rules as operations change, then confirm the customer experience with a test call before relying on it overnight.

How to build after-hours coverage

  1. Set real working hoursEvery department gets the staffed periods and timezone that control live transfers.
  2. Choose the overnight answersHours, access, preparation and policies remain answerable from approved entries.
  3. Define true urgent categoriesOnly explicit categories may use an on-call contact; the rest become structured requests.
  4. Test just after closingCall with a routine question, an ordinary request and an urgent category.

Hours, answerable facts and urgent routes are configured separately.

What buyers in this trade ask us

What exactly does a caller hear at night?

The truth, in their language: that you're closed, when you open, an answer if the knowledge base has one, and an offer to record their request. If you configured an emergency arrangement, it's stated exactly; if not, nothing is promised.

Can different days have different hours?

Yes — per-day schedules including split shifts and overnight spans, in your timezone. Seasonal changes are an edit, and an unset schedule changes nothing: the agent behaves as before until you configure hours.

Does after-hours capture actually convert?

That's measured in your pilot, not asserted here — the honest claim is mechanical: calls that used to hit voicemail become structured requests with contacts. What your team converts them into is your morning's work, visible in your own numbers.
